BLACK HAVEN

In December 2023, TONE hosted BLACK HAVEN, a week of programming for Miami Art Week 2023. TONE hosted artists, MadameFraankie and Desmond Lewis for the New Art Dealers Alliance Art Fair. Other programming included a screening of three short films, Germane Barnes’ “You Can Always Come Home”. The Big We’s “Spirit of Memphis,” and TONE’s “Beacon of the South.” TONE also hosted two panel discussions, one moderated by Gabrielle Brooks for the Prizm Art Fair and the second panel moderated by Bertram Williams for the New Art Dealers Alliance. Black Haven was the over-arching theme for the week and the panels cover the importance of safe spaces built by Black people for Black people and the importance of preserving our sacred stories.
