Purpose: When asked what pleasure means to us, most people immediately think of pleasure in the form of sex. The intention of the
pleasure symposium is to open people's minds to a broader definition of what pleasure is and what it can be. I think we oftentimes
experience pleasure and we don't even know it because we've reduced what pleasure is to just sex. So here to combat that, we'll be
offering up a yoga session with Libby Campo. A way to experience pleasure thru movement with ourselves, others, and our ancestors.
Pleasure thru relishing food and sweet treats because I know my toes get to curling whenever I eat my favorite foods. We'll explore what
pleasure means to other folks outside of ourselves, and offer up a few words in support of how others feel. There will be a sex aspect.
We'll be testing so that folks know the importance of experiencing sexual pleasure, while still prioritizing being safe. We'll round the day
out with a conversation furthering safe sex practices and ways to make sure we're all experiencing sexual pleasure, and offering up safe
sexual experiences to those with whom we want to be intimate. We want folks to leave here empowered, knowing that it's okay to want
pleasure, and it's nothing to be ashamed of. We want people to also know that pleasure shows up in our lives every day in a multitude of
ways.
